I like that I was able to use "menstral" in a sentence today to point out a symbol in somebody's short story. Really, I did. But I had to close my eyes.

Also, caffeine + me = danger, will robinson. I was shaking and talking crazy in class today-- and all from one cup of pub cappuccino. Ugh.

Feeling the need to support Kubo Tite, I went out and bought Bleach Vol. 1. It's so good. If anything, the storyline was tighter then than it is now.

Anyway, I've had the niggling feeling that Ulquiorra is much more than he seems. He's badass and cool and will probably surprise us with us. He's definitely not flamboyantly weird as the other arrancar and he's certainly deeper than the others.

To the point: I think he's Orihime's brother, Kakei.

Actually, I just want him to be Orihime's brother. He has the same hair. And after his fight with Ichigo, Kakei took his mask off--so he was already half-way arrancar.

Here's why he's definitely not: Kakei was purified and he wouldn't take his sister to Hueco Mundo. No way. Or maybe he had not choice...

Kakei should join the party. He really needs to in order to make the story go full circle to volume 1.

My stomach kind of hurts after all the eating I did today. Oy. Lesson: don't eat too much.

Me: Wow. Cheap.
Dad: It was 1981.
Me: I wasn't there in 1981.
Dad: Where were you?
Me: I wasn't born yet!?
Dad: You were in the sky.

My Monday classes do a good job of increasing my general paranoia. Terrorism. Surveillance. Dataveillance. Privacy. 1984. You're being watched...

What would you expect from a class called Fear and Loathing in CyberSpace?

Just spent the weekend catching up with class work. I'm not quite there yet, but things are looking hopeful. Maybe I'll finally get to escape somewhere and go exploring.(And by exploring, I mean looking for a bookstore.)

A lot of the procrastination of the last two weeks has been due to Death Note. It's a really good series and it makes you think about your own ideas about justice-- better yet, about who you think is just. The main character is both likeable and disdainful. You can't help but wonder where he's going to go and you'll be surprised by where you think you want him to go. The supporting characters are also brilliant. I especially love the character L. He's quirky...And the things that go on in his head are amazing. The story also made think of how to layer a plot.

Bleach and Naruto have hit this little slump, looks like...or maybe it's because I'm reading them chapter by chapter now instead of whole big tankobon chunks.

Right now, I'm taking a break from manga reading (except for the translating of a couple of imports that I have). I need to start doing my own stuff again.
